Commission furniture painting project – grey distressed China cabinet

Liz’s gran had left her a China cabinet which she had fond memories of as a child being the ‘sweetie cabinet’, Liz saw the sideboard we painted for Becky via our Facebook page and hoped we could make this cabinet sweet again as the yellow wood didn’t fit in with her home decor.

We had already painted Liz’s nest of tables so we decided to paint them the same colour on site at Liz’s home. As the wood was such lovely quality we decided to paint the China cabinet roughly so that some of the wonderful wood would show through. We distressed the cabinet just as we did with the nest of tables and finished it off with the same varnish. We opted for keeping the same handles however we painted over them to match and sealed them with varnish.
