This fortnight’s top pick – hand painted french style cabinet

This cabinet is hand painted in grey and waxed for a smooth protected finish. It has been lightly distressed and features beautiful brass handles which have been cleaned up but not too highly polished to be in-keeping with the vintage, French look.

The top section is a slide out drawer (painted inside with the colour duck egg) and the bottom opens out and is attached to the main body enabling it to stay open on its own. Both have a lovely piece of paper lining the bottom.

There’s so many uses for this gorgeous cabinet in any room of the house whether for a bedside, living room or even used as a drinks cabinet! The grey colour is very on trend and complements a range of decors.

Dimensions are:

  • Height – 28.5 inches
  • Width – 18 inches
  • Depth – 13 inches
  • Height of bottom section – 11.5 inches

Our favourite thing about this piece is the ornate cabriole legs though the handles are a close second!

This cabinet is available to purchase via our Etsy shop.

Our first day on the market

There were mixed emotions of nerves and excitement on setting up the stall for the first time. It’s a lot more personal when selling products you’ve made yourself and the hope that other people beside your friends and family actually like what you’ve made!

Our stall was in the old area of Long Eaton market next to the “watch strap and battery guy” Dave. The other traders were on hand to offer friendly advice and made setting up a lot more stress free! Here’s a pic of the stall, not bad for a first attempt but I soon learnt I would need a few more smaller items to fill out the display as well as more visible price tags.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to stop by and pass on their comments and improvements. For this week I am hoping to try out a pitch on the High Street (I have just bought a gazebo for the occasion!) and I also have business cards printed for those who wish to look us up online (school boy error!).

Thanks for your support, see you Saturday.
